Weekends at Rabun Gap are full of fun! Our boarding students can choose from a variety of activities and exciting trips planned by our residential life team. Weekends can be as relaxed or adventurous as students choose, with options to explore the surrounding cities. Catch a movie at the local theatre, hang out with friends at the Student Center, or simply sleep in and enjoy a late brunch then spend time in the dorm.

Rabun County has a population of 16,276 and is known for its wealth of natural beauty, with more than 60% national forest land, three lakes, three state parks, and lots of waterfalls. Students enjoy spending time in the surrounding Appalachian mountains. There are also plenty of opportunities to attend local events and explore the quaint downtown areas.

Rabun Gap is two hours from three major cities — Atlanta, GA, Greenville, SC, and Asheville, NC. On weekends, Rabun Gap often hosts trips to museums, arts venues, malls, amusement parks, and other major attractions in these cities.
